Traveling Tips

Traveling is a pleasant experience; however, it is important to be prepared in case something unexpected happens, like loosing your wallet, not counting with cash on the right currency, having wrong reservations; among other things that can ruin a trip.
The following tips will help you avoid any unexpected situation:

  • Learn about the country you are planning to go before you do, learn its history, culture, manners, and even political situation.
  • Create a budget for your trip, and stick to it.
  • Learn how to do currency exchange on the country you are planning to visit.
  • Make sure your debit and credit cards will be valid for the duration of your trip.
  • Be informed of cash withdraw limits on each one of your cards.
  • Have the telephone numbers for the customer service of your cards with you, in an easy access place.
  • Use your credit or debit cards to make reservations. Write down the confirmation numbers, and call to confirm before you leave home.

We recommend you have the original and copies of your passport, ID, and the credit cards you plan to use; leave the rest of them in a safe place at home. Copies may be helpful to prove your identity in case your documents are lost or stolen.

If your cards are lost or stolen, you need to notify your bank immediately.

Use your credit card to pay for any urgent medical treatment you receive during your trip, so that your cash reserve is not hurt by unexpected expenses.
